Repair Order System - Repair Codes

The Repair Code Browse window contains information concerning the maintenance performed. The maintenance is described by a repair code. For example, "PM - A" might be a repair code, and "Brake Job" might be a different repair code. As many repair codes as are needed can be placed on a single repair order.

This process of separating the work on a repair order into multiple repair codes allows the system to report back how much is spent on maintenance by Repair Code. Each repair is also classified by Assembly Code and by Cost Code. FleetWise can report how much has been spent on maintenance by these codes also.

The Repair Codes window is displayed below. Notice that RO # 228 consists of two Repair Codes. The cost of each repair code is displayed. The location where the maintenance was performed can be identified. You can indicate the maintenance was performed at one of your shops or at an outside vendors shop.

The maintenance is described by a repair code, assembly code and a cost code. Repair codes provide the most detailed description of the maintenance. Repair codes are activities actually performed on a vehicle like oil change, tune up, and brake job.

Assembly codes are a more generic description of the maintenance. Assembly codes refer to large components of a vehicle or piece of unit. For example, assembly codes would include the engine, drive train and transmission.

Cost codes are the highest description of the maintenance. Cost codes allow you to group maintenance for PM's, general repairs, and repairs do to accidents. Note you create all of these codes.

You can enter free text notes concerning the maintenance performed. Also, you can predefine notes when you create repair codes in the FleetWise VB Fleet Maintenance Software - CMMS.
